Our next intake cycle starts SUNDAY APRIL 4th! Come and join us beforehand to chat out all things roller derby and learn how to sign up.

We train on Sundays 1.30pm in Maylands, and Wednesdays 6.30pm in O'Connor. Sign up for our 12 week cycles and learn incrementally.

No skating experience required, we teach you the basics!
Don't want to play? Become a ref!
Don't want to skate? Become a volunteer, or non-skating official!

**********************************************************
WA Roller Derby is hosting two information sessions in the lead up to our next intakes for new skaters, referees and non-skating officials.

These sessions are held at our regular training venues, so you'll get to see what roller derby training is all about.

The sessions will be hosted by our sign-up coordinator who will take you through the ins and outs of Roller Derby and give you all the information you need to join and answer any questions you might have (you'll probably have quite a few!).

Don't forget to share to your friends too! Signing up with a bud is great for emotional support and friendly competition ðŸ™‚

FAQs:
Q: But I can't skate!?
A: That’s ok - neither could we! We teach you everything to do with roller derby - even skating!
Q: Do I need skates and gear at the info session?
A: No you don’t. It’s a time and space to get info and ask questions.
Q: Do I need my own skates and gear once I start training?
A: Depending on which location you train at, we can loan you some equipment (except mouth guards). However, we strongly encourage you to get your own setup fairly early so you can learn in your own gear.
Q: Who can join and skate with WARD?
A: Anyone 18+ can participate on (or off) skates at WARD. For those looking to play roller derby on one of our teams, WARD is a league for folx for whom Women’s Flat Track Roller Derby (WFTDA) is the version and composition of roller derby with which they most closely identify ðŸŒˆ. We're open to all folx 18+ in officiating and volunteer roles!
Q: But I'm far too _____!?
A: No, you're great the way you are, and that's why we'd love to have you.
Q: I don't want to get hit!
A: We teach everyone safe derby practices, but if it's really not your thing then volunteering or officiating is a fantastic option to get involved
